Detailed Itinerary

8:00 AM | Departure from Kashgar

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup in Kashgar. As we set off, your guide will introduce you to the day ahead as we leave the city behind and head for the mountains.

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | The Karakoram Highway & Stops Along the Way

We’ll drive along the mighty Karakoram Highway, making spontaneous stops at the most scenic spots. Our first major photo opportunity is the Oytagh Red Mountain, where the rusty-hued cliffs create a martian landscape. We’ll pass through the Gaz Checkpoint (have your passports ready) and the historic site of an ancient Caravan Sarai, imagining the Silk Road traders who once rested here.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Serenity at Baisha Lake (North Bank)

Arriving at Baisha Lake, we’ll bypass the crowded tourist areas and take you to the pristine North Bank. Here, you can enjoy the peaceful panorama of the dazzling white sand dunes meeting the crystal-clear, jade-colored lake, with the imposing snow mountains as a backdrop. It’s a photographer’s paradise and a moment of pure serenity.

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM | Karakul Lake & The “Father of Ice Mountains”

A short drive brings us to the spectacular Karakul Lake. Nestled at the foot of the monumental Muztagh Ata (“Father of Ice Mountains”) and the towering Kongur Tagh, the lake’s surface acts as a perfect mirror for the peaks. We’ll take a gentle hike along the shoreline, soaking in the immense scale and sacred silence of this high-altitude landscape.

2:30 PM – 6:00 PM | Muztagh Ata Glacier Park

Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the entrance of Muztagh Ata Glacier Park. From here, a shuttle bus will take us closer to the ice. At an altitude of 4,800 meters, you’ll step out into a world of ice and rock. You’ll have the surreal experience of touching the ancient glacier ice and seeing the vibrant, small lake formed at its foot. The panoramic view of the Subash Valley stretching out before you is simply awe-inspiring. Spend about 1.5 hours hiking and exploring this incredible environment.

6:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Scenic Return to Kashgar

We’ll begin our journey back to Kashgar, winding down through the mountains as the light changes the colors of the landscape. You’ll be dropped back at your accommodation in the evening, your heart and camera full of memories from a truly epic day.
